In addition to her husband Gene of the home, Mrs. Garrett fell in love with the faculty, staff and students of Pickens High School, where she worked as a receptionist for the past 17 years. She loved reading, taking care of her grandchildren and bird watching and was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Miss., and later graduated from Greenville Technical College.
